ProMove Product Training
We now offer ProMove Product Application Training that is hands-on and bespoke to your organisational needs. Training can vary from time specific morning or afternoon slots to all day sessions, depending on needs. We are happy to cater for individuals and groups, and sessions will include presentations, video demonstrations and hand on exercises.
The training we provide is based on the ProMove products and can help support customers within the emergency services, healthcare industry, schools and colleges, airports and airlines and facilities management businesses.
Site specific training can be provided and designed specifically for you and your team. The training is based on your product selection and will focus on correct application concentrating on application of the slings, positioning, product maintenance, cleaning and storage. These are product-based information training sessions designed to enhance product understanding and application. Moving & Handling training is included as standard as part of the training.
Our training will help your staff and organisation to improve moving and handling of individuals, enhance efficiency, as well as reduce risks for everyone involved. Providing product training to our customer’s staff, helps build product knowledge, which will result in increased confidence when using the products.

About the Trainer
Our trainer Ian Smith (Dip NEBOSH, Grad (Iosh) has over 20 years’ experience with Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service (FRS). Ian has been a trainer of ProMove products since 2013 when he was trained by the late Dr Huw Thomas, creator of the ProMove sling. Ian is trained in People Moving and Handling and has worked in both the NHS and Private Care sectors as well as Colleges and Emergency Services. Ian has been a Manual Handling Assessor since 2007, having attended the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) assessor course.
Professionally qualified to degree level in Health and Safety, Ian can also discuss the Health and Safety implications in using ProMove products, and the responsibilities for employers as well as private individuals.
Ian has also attained City and Guilds qualifications for Adult Teaching, therefore clients can be assured of a high-quality training session.
Recently in Autumn 2017, Ian was asked by the BBC The One Show to assist Northamptonshire FRS during filming a feature for the programme about bariatric rescue and training.
